The Capitano, later known as the Cavalier, is made from buckram, a stiffened cloth used to make the hat more sturdy. Fully lined, the inside seams are finished, a sweatband is added, and eyelets hold up the 5-inch brim. Milliner's wire is added to the edge to maintain the shape. Individually hand-blocked in the traditional fashion, the Capitano includes three 18-22 inch ostrich feathers: 3 black.

This lavish fully finished garment includes: a long satin gown in a deep green/blue color with two-tone shimmer fabric detail and sleeves, sparkling in the light from a rich teal to a glistening gold. Specially molded snake headpiece and snake necklace, both with faux jewel accent also included.
